Lots of excitement on the farm as we have a some rare visitors

We have a couple of pairs of corn buntings, but I am particularly excited by the presence of some wild quails .

They have hatched some young which are tiny.

Amazingly these very small little birds fly all the way to Africa for the winter, but to look at they resemble a small partridge which only flies small distances .

I have kept quails for eggs about 6 years ago but I could not get over how aggressive they were, they spent the whole time fighting and doing serious damage to each other.
