Three Little Pigs products are made from rare breed pigs that roam freely on their farm in the Yorkshire countryside.
It is this rare breed Berkshire pork that gives the products a distinctive flavour. They finely trim and mince the pork, giving the product a smoother texture than it’s European counterparts (fewer 'chewy' bits in Yorkshire speak!) They are dried under carefully controlled conditions producing a ready-to-eat salami for snacking and cooking.
The great levels of care they show their animals is reflected in the quality of their products as the Great Taste gold awards they’ve won show.
We love them with crusty bread and a glass of red wine, but they are also perfect for cooking with.
Three Little Pigs was launched in 2009 after Charlotte and Jon Clarkson, the fifth-generation of Kiplingcotes farmers, were given two rare breed Berkshire pigs as a wedding present. At that time they were wheat and grain farmers, and the the price of grain had fallen significantly. Luckily, little did they know their gift of pigs were pregnant and it wasn’t very long before they had three little pigs. Soon after they diversified away from wheat and into Chorizo production and had a herd of 160 sows!
