Organic Cucumber

We are lucky to have a local supplier just across the border in East Yorkshire who manages to have organically grown English cucumbers for much of the year. When we have to look further afield to Europe you can be assured that we only freight by land and sea.

Who doesn't like a cucumber sandwich on an English green? These are staples of many sandwich fillings, crudite displays and salads but have become increasingly popular as the basis for healthy vegetable juices.

Reasons to eat cucumber:

• Compounds in cucumber inhibit some of your bodies own pro-inflammatory molecules so they will help to keep inflammatory diseases at bay.
• Cucumbers contain polyphenols called lignans, which studies have shown may help to lower your risk of breast, uterine, ovarian, and prostate cancers.

• Containing many anti-oxidants, including the well-known vitamin C and beta-carotene.
