The Leeds Bread Coop are a local artisan bakery and workers co-op. All their bread is slow-fermented and made by hand using organic flour, in their small bakery in Leeds. They are passionate about making great tasting bread that is good for people, and is made using simple, high quality ingredients, organic and local where possible. As a values-led enterprise, we aim to provide an ethical and enjoyable livelihood for all their workers whilst reducing the environmental impact of the bread we produce.

About Leeds Bread Co-Op
We’re an independent social enterprise and worker co-op, specialising in slowly fermented, hand-crafted bread.
Leeds Bread Co-op was established in the summer of 2012 by 3 founder members, who were motivated to make great quality, delicious bread made with healthy, well-sourced ingredients available to the people of Leeds, whilst creating an ethical and enjoyable workplace that provided good livelihoods to the workers.
With the help of a supportive community and loyal customers, we have slowly grown over the last few years – but have held true to the original aims of the co-op and to our co-operative values.
We, along with all our fellow co-operatives around the world, are based on the co-operative values of democracy, self-help, self-responsibility, equality, equity and solidarity. We aim for a non-hierarchical workplace where empowerment of staff, care of the community and collective self-reliance are at the core of how we function.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not keep spare supplies of bread on site. This product is ordered especially for you as as such we need a little advance notice. The bakery needs our orders on a Friday morning for the whole of the following week so please bear this in mind when placing your order. Unless we receive it by 9am on a Friday morning we won't be able to guarantee to have your meat the following week.
