‘A rich toasted coconut aroma and a tempting, tropical nose. The texture is fairly smooth, firm but spreadable. It melts well on the palate and doesn't dry the entire mouth as in some nut butters. There are tiny granules of coconut in the texture which we found appealing. This would be wonderful on toast but equally good eaten off the spoon. There is a good tropical note which we enjoyed.’
The Carob plant is a flowering evergreen shrub, usually from the Med (the one I use is Italian). High in calcium, zinc & iron, carob powder is slightly sweet and contains no caffeine.
