PERUVIAN COFFEE (Grumpy Mule) 200g

In the village of Subirana on the fringe of the Pico Pijol national park is the Comisuyl co-operative. No ordinary group of farmers these people. Following a catastrophic outbreak of leaf rust in 2011, this enterprising group replanted, rebuilt and got back into the business. They could have done this the 'easy' way, but they chose to invest in their environment and introduced the first solar-powered drying plant in Central America. Bewley's were so impressed that we buy our co2 emissions offsets from them - a little way to reward them for their pioneering work and commitment to the environment. A medium to strong coffee with tastes of buttered toast, molasses and dark chocolate.
