COURGETTES (Spain) 400g

Organic Courgettes weighing 500 grams.

In the summer months we grow our own courgettes or can easily get them from local sources. At other times of year we will always look to source as close to home as we can.

Courgettes are so versatile, whether eaten cooked or raw. Dieters have fallen in love with substituting pasta and noodles from courgette ribbons or spiralized coils. They make a great basis for a salad or in fritattas!

Reasons to eat courgettes:

• An excellent source of potassium, an important intra-cellular electrolyte. Potassium is a heart-friendly electrolyte and helps bring the reduction in blood pressure and heart rates by countering pressure-effects of sodium.
• Contain folates, important for cell division and DNA synthesis.
