Sadly we have not yet managed to grow our own bananas here in Yorkshire - we usually get our Fair Trade and organic bananas from the Dominica Republic.

The perennial family favourite - bananas are a great one to carry with you while out on the go. They are also delicious BBQ'd or baked and make the perfect nutritious thickener for a smoothie.

Reasons to eat bananas? They are full of vitamin B6, potassium and a source of dietary fibre.
