POMEGRANATE MOLASSES (Odysea) 250ml
Pomegranate molasses is a thick ruby-coloured syrup, popular in Middle- Eastern cuisine, with a balanced sweet and sharp, fruity-tart kick that adds complexity when used in marinades, dressings and a whole host of dishes.
A staple of Persian, Levantine cuisine & dishes from areas around Middle-Eastern region, Pomegranate Molasses takes its name from the thick pouring consistency that resembles molasses, but is used traditionally as an ingredient to savoury dishes or as a condiment, and not as a sweetener.
How to choose the best pomegranate molasses to buy?
To experience an intense, balanced flavour of sweet pomegranate tartness, choose a natural product made with no added sugars. Odysea pomegranate molasses is made purely with the slow reduction of pomegranate juice and contains 100% natural occurring sugars, with no additives.
It takes approximately 340g of pure pomegranate juice reduction to make a 250ml bottle of our molasses. The pomegranates are harvested from late August to mid-autumn, selected from a variety that yields bigger dark burgundy fruit with a good balance of sour & sweet flavours. Their juice is extracted & slowly reduced until it becomes a dense syrup.
A proud two-star winner in Great Taste Awards, Odysea Pomegranate Molasses has been described by the judges as “flawless” in its “thick syrupy texture”, “carrying with it the sweet sharpness of the fruit, and quite some complexity”.
How to use Odysea Pomegranate Molasses:
Whisk into marinades or salad dressings for added comlexity
Brush over meat or poultry for a delicious glaze
Drizzle over roasted vegetables, fruit or yoghurt. Try mixing it with oil instead of lemon juice as a dressing.
Use it as a cordial or in cocktails such as pomegranate fizz.
